Today’s world is still an extremely challenging environment for female leaders, entrepreneurs, and business owners. Over 80% of women holding leading and critical positions have faced series of unique challenges and obstacles related to their gender. Statistically lower wages, bias coming from conservative male figures in the industry, the tremendous challenge of balancing maternity responsibilities with running a business and managing its sustainable development; all of it makes a woman’s journey towards big goals at least twice as hard as a man’s one. Besides, psychological and emotional pressure on women, especially the ones aiming high at their careers, is considerably stronger comparing to the one experienced by men.
Being a female entrepreneur herself, Karina Zamura has always been aware of the struggles that career-oriented women face, which inspired her to dedicate all her rich combination of skills and experiences to create an environment that would help women all over the world, and particularly, high-ranking female professionals suffering from excessive level of stress and burnout, to heal, find harmonic balance between professional and personal life, fight such mental health issues as anxiety, depression, nervous breakdowns, and insomnia, and reach their highest potential while feeling fulfilled, supported, and happy. To reach this goal, Karina came up with an initiative based on the most innovative psychotherapy technique – art therapy.
Zamura’s remarkable combination of experience in executive management, business development, and the art of dance, along with months spent on researching all subtleties of the advanced dance therapy science helped to build the first-of-a-kind Baltic dance studio with a specific focus on addressing mental health challenges and empowering women to overcome traumas, stress, and mood disorders. Karina’s project has immediately started bringing illustrious results, and the initiative turned out to be more sought-after than ever, especially following the devastating effects of the recent COVID pandemic, lockdown, and the world’s unstable political situation over the last years.
Hundred’s of women attending Karina’s dance therapy sessions credit them for starting to flourish emotionally, professionally, and personally. The dance studio has quickly started getting both national and international recognition. Addressing the mental health conditions, particularly within females who statistically belong to a risk group due to the additional layers of stress related to maternity, pregnancy, harder work & life balance, and discriminative professional environment, is a task of global significance that thousands of psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists have been trying to accomplish for decades. Karina came up with an extraordinarily simple and elegant solution of fostering happiness and release of endorphins through the gracious art of dance therapy and power of building a supportive female community united by common passion.
Zamura’s initiative started from a small dance studio and two ballroom dancers, and quickly grew into a the mental health project of national importance that has positively influenced the lives of hundreds of women across the Baltic countries. What’s particularly interesting is that the level of dancing craft in Karina’s studios is so impressive that it started attracting Latvian celebrities from the music industry willing to collaborate. Thus, Karina’s project got a wide coverage on stage and television with series of concerts and performances.
“I strongly believe in the transformative power of dance”, shares Karina, “It is immense. It is a true vehicle for emotional expression, healing and personal growth. It is empowering women to tap into their inner strength and resilience.”
Karina’s advice to all aspiring female entrepreneurs dreaming of accomplishing major goals is simple: “Passion, persistence, and a deep understanding of your target audience are the key elements of success. Stay true to your vision, take challenges as opportunities to grow, build a supportive network of fellow professionals. Any obstacles can be overcome when you are not alone. It has always been collaboration that made our mission so rewarding and capable of creating something beautiful.”
“Supporting women in their transformative experiences”, adds Karina, “inspiring the next generation of female leaders to bring positive change to the world – that’s what has always been my driving force and motivation”.
