Obligatory deductions in fund of preventive maintenance and road accident prevention, and also in guarantee fund OCTA for first six months of this year have made 15,5 million Ls.

“In the first half of the year 2008 volumes of awards have increased by 63,6 % that is one of the most considerable приростов for last five years. In turn the gain has gross-vozmeshcheny increased by 56,9 %. The gain of the signed awards directly is connected with growth of an indicator of inflation which considerably increases year after year the sum paid возмещений. It is necessary to consider and that many insurers prepare in advance for changes in limits insurance возмещений which will come into force since 2009”, the chairman of board of the Latvian bureau of insurers of vehicles Юрис Стенгревиц speaks.

About the size of indemnification

Let’s remind, that since December, 1st, 2009 in Latvia the norm of EU sharply lifting payments under policies OCTA will start to operate. Henceforth victims should pay to 2,5 million EUR (1,75 million Ls), and the size of indemnification of a material damage will grow to 500 thousand EUR (350 thousand Ls).

Moreover, already about June, 1st, 2012 and these figures will grow twice. Victims should pay to 5 million EUR (3,5 million Ls), and material damage indemnifications will make to 1 million EUR (700 thousand Ls).

Now, according to the Law on obligatory insurance of the vehicles, the driver who has suffered in failure with passengers can receive a maximum of 250 thousand Ls (on all). For the damaged property under policies OCTA it is paid no more than 70 thousand Ls.
