The idea of the minister of health Винетса Велдре to enter obligatory insurance of health for inhabitants of Latvia has not found special understanding at members of parliament. Anyway in conversation with an Hour many of them did not hide the concern in this initiative. |
Винетс Велдре believes, that introduction of obligatory insurance will help to change the relation of inhabitants to own health, and also to increase the branch budget. Thanking пациентским to payments the state will manage to solve a staff deficit problem in medicine.
But members of parliament including from coalition parties, to the initiative of the minister concern with watchfulness.
- This initiative is not new. We spoke about it still ten years ago, – the chairman of parliamentary fraction of association of the First party / the Latvian way, ex-prime minister Andris Berzinsh has told to Hour. – As a matter of fact and today each working inhabitant of the country participates in obligatory insurance as 24,7 % from surtax go on medicine. A problem that nobody pays for children and pensioners. That I read in newspapers about the initiative of mister Veldre, suggests that it is superficial. If it is attempt of additional attraction of means in branch it is necessary to speak about it directly.
With a position of the ex-prime minister representatives of oppositional fractions of parliament agree also.
- It is eternal dispute. On the one hand, say, that the state, and with another – patients should pay medicine, – Jury Sokolovsky tells. – we now have not clear hybrid which suits nobody, but alternatives to it like and is not present.
By means of insurance of a problem not to solve. Latvia – the small country, and volume of the means received from insurance, will be not so and big. If, for example, the big country presumes to buy the new equipment at the expense of volume, to raise salaries for small it is unreal.
It can turn out and so, that the person will not have money for the insurance and he cannot pay for illness diagnostics. When disease will reach last stage, the state all the same should treat and spend it for it huge money. I think, that with introduction of initiative Велдре the quantity of such heavy cases can sharply increase.

- I while know about this initiative that it to make comments too little. Very much it would not be desirable, that the monopoly was established – it is necessary, that in the market there were some players, including foreign.
